Ecstatic Dance Festival 2027
Calling Installation Artists
Create Something People Can Step Into
The Om House Ecstatic Dance Festival is inviting artists, designers, builders and creative collaborators to propose immersive art installations for our 2027 Spring Equinox celebration.
We are looking for art that transforms the festival landscape - pieces that invite curiosity, interaction, reflection, movement and connection.
Date
Saturday, March 20, 2027
Hours
10:00 AM – Midnight (+weekend camping option)
Venue
North Georgia
Attendance
Expected 500-1,000 guests
What We're Looking For
We welcome proposals for:
- Interactive installations
- Large-scale sculptures
- Light-based art
- Nature-inspired and land-based pieces
- Textile and fiber installations
- Reflective or mirrored works
- Walk-through environments
- Participatory community art
- Sustainable or reclaimed-material creations
- Movement-responsive pieces
- Other original concepts that complement the festival experience
Installations may be contemplative, playful, visually striking or quietly unexpected. The strongest proposals will feel naturally connected to the landscape and encourage guests to pause, explore or engage.
The Creative Direction
The festival brings together movement, music, wellness, creativity and community in an outdoor natural setting.
We are especially interested in work exploring themes such as:
- The Spring Equinox
- Renewal and emergence
- Balance between light and darkness
- Human connection
- Nature and consciousness
- Sound, movement and energy
- Transformation
- Collective experience
Work does not need to be spiritual or wellness-focused, but it should feel aligned with the atmosphere and intention of the festival.
Artist Participation
Selected artists will receive:
- A designated installation area within the festival grounds
- Festival admission for approved installation team members
- An artist profile or listing on the festival website
- Recognition in the festival directory and event map
- Social-media visibility before the event
- The opportunity to present work to an expected audience of 500-1,000 guests
Available support, installation schedules and participation terms will be discussed with selected artists based on the scope of each proposal.
Installation Requirements
All proposed work must:
- Be suitable for an outdoor environment
- Be stable and secure throughout the event
- Withstand reasonable wind and changing weather conditions
- Use materials and anchoring methods that protect the land
- Leave no permanent footprint
- Avoid damage to trees, water, soil or existing structures
- Be safe for guests to approach or interact with
- Include appropriate lighting or visibility after dark, when applicable
- Be installed and removed within the approved schedule
Electricity is limited and cannot be guaranteed. Battery-powered, solar-powered or self-contained lighting is strongly encouraged.
Open flames, hazardous materials and installations that create environmental waste will not be accepted.
How Artists Are Selected
Proposals will be reviewed for:
- Originality and visual impact
- Connection to the festival environment
- Guest experience and interactivity
- Safety and structural stability
- Environmental responsibility
- Installation and removal feasibility
- Space and electrical requirements
Submitting a proposal does not guarantee selection. Om House may request adjustments before approving an installation.
